Netball Festival
In May, Maerdy Primary hosted the first annual Rondda Fach Netball Festival! It was a fantastic afternoon in which five schools competed to win a brand new shield. Each team played superbly on the day and were fantastic representatives for their school. In the end Maerdy played Darran Park in the final and were ultimately victorious!!

In February Year 5 and 6 took part in a More Able and Talent initiative looking to discover hidden sporting talents. Hundreds of pupils over RCT took part, however only the top 10% of all those competing would receive an invite to develop their skills in a specific club tailored to the pupils individual needs. We are pleased to report a fantastic four of our pupils made it through! This is an excellent achievement given that exceedingly high standards were needed across a variety of very different sporting skills in order to receive an invite.
Well done Casey Hunt, Lewis Taylor Harrison Davies and Estee Parry!

This week in after school football training the boys tried on their brand new football kit!!!

They conducted a series of sporting activities with our Year 5 and 6 children, testing for advanced skill development in speed, strength, balance and co-ordination. All children performed superbly and were commended by the trainers for their excellent commitment and skill level.
